We all feel we know glass, but how is it really made? Glass is made up of sand (SiO2 - silicon oxide), limestone (CaCO3) and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) melted and fused together.
Glass cutting boards can look stunnning, and they can be great for serving food, such as a glass cheese board or glass charcuterie board. However, they are not great as cutting boards as they will dull and damage your knives. Do not use glass for this, it is better to select a beautiful wood for your cutting board.
